JAYCO

Jayco was founded in 1968 by a man of strong faith and vision. Lloyd J. Bontrager, family man and inventor, felt he could build the world a better RV. With encouragement from his wife Bertha, Lloyd started the company on their farm in two chicken houses and a barn. He developed his own prototype camping trailer and a unique lifter system for fold-down campers, the basic design is still used today. Today, Jayco's family of employees has grown to more than 1200 people, including nearly 300 dealers located in every state in the continental United States, including Alaska, Puerto Rico, all provinces of Canada, Japan, Iceland, Thailand and Chile. As we take on the new millennium, Jayco is still in the family, as the largest privately held manufacturer in the RV industry. Lloyd's concept of tradition and family still guides Jayco at the heart of its success.
